We were saddened to learn that Christine passed away last month shortly before her 60th birthday – please see the Facebook message from the family below. "Unfortunately, we write to share the heartbreaking news of Christine’s passing in the early hours of Sunday morning. She was at home and surrounded by family. Her decline over the past few weeks took us all by surprise. But that was Christine all over - determined to stay alive but then determined to go when she accepted it was time. She was the definition of resilience. |
Since her diagnosis three and a half years ago, Christine has not only defied the odds but lived life remarkably well and has been an inspiration. So much so that Macmillan and Pancreatic Cancer UK chose to share her story to their thousands of followers.
We have done some amazing things in that time together as a family and in many ways we were blessed to have three and a half years, given the diagnosis and prognosis back then, and we’ve made many special memories.
We would like to thank each and every one of Christine’s friends and those who donated to her Just Giving page. Your donations allowed us to explore all treatment options possible. Christine was immensely grateful and taken aback by how much support she received over the years. Love from Simon, George, Annabelle and Beth"

Christine was a keen member of RNSC Masters – swimming in lanes 3 & 4 - from 2010 until we temporarily ceased swimming due to Covid in 2020. She received her diagnosis shortly after that. She was very sporty and, in addition to swimming, she skied, played tennis and golf, and enjoyed cycling. Latterly she took up painting, and her beautiful artwork was on display at the funeral reception.
At the celebration of her life at St Luke’s Church on Wednesday 11th December, we learnt so much about her interesting and active life and her loving relationship with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Rennie Grove Peace Hospice or UCLH Charity.
