- 50m Breaststroke 44.29 Bronze
- 100m Breaststroke 1:39.40 Silver
Paul C was RNSC's only representative at this event, claiming medals in both his races:
Congratulations to our 9 competitors, who won a total of 13 Gold, 12 Silver and 5 Bronze medals! Star of the show was Mike G (lane 6) who won all 5 of his races in the 85-89yr age group. He was cheered on and applauded by the competitors in true Masters tradition. Caitlin won Gold in the under 25yr 100m Backstroke, but missed her other races due to a shoulder injury. We hope you feel OK and make a fast recovery Caitlin. Paul C demonstrated his cool confidence, leaving after his 100m Breaststroke race to attend a lunchtime party, and then returning to compete in the 50m Breaststroke race! Clair smashed most of her entry times, winning 2 Golds and 2 Silvers, and will probably be leading Lane 3 soon! Chris S had not raced for a while but made up for that by competing in 7 races, collecting 3 Gold and 3 Silver medals. Well done Chris, we hope to see you on the blocks again soon! Karen B, Roy, Janet and Martin brought home the rest of the medals. Full results details:
Well done to our competitors who represented RNSC at the Barnet Copthall Distance Meet! They brought home a fine collection of gold and silver medals from this top quality meet, where 10 new British records were set!
Well done team!! What a great day out!!
Great individual medal hauls and a good overall placing for our club. RNSC came 5th of 13 clubs, managing to pip Hillingdon by 20 points. This was a well attended and well run competition, with some extremely fast swimmers. It was good to see new members, Helen and Caitlin join the team. Caitlin collected a gold medal for each of her races! (Unfortunately she had to leave early before the team photo was taken!) Another fine performance by Roy, who was the only RNSC swimmer at this event.
Despite having missed several weeks of training at the beginning of the year, Roy achieved excellent race times and collected 6 gold medals:
Well done to Roy and Peter on their medal haul at the Newmarket meet:
Roy won 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal. 75-79 Age Group
Peter won 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. 70-74 Age Group
Martin was our only representative at this meet. Due to a poor showing in the 70-74 year age group, he claimed one gold and 4 silver medals by coming last....
Teresa's full results:
Well done to all of you who took part in competitions during the year! Roy regained the trophy for 'Top Boy' and after a year without any female contenders in 2022, Karen B took the 'Top Girl' trophy. See the full results below. There is one name missing from our chart - Dan (lane 1) put in some fast swims for his 'first claim' club, The Met Police.
At our best turnout we fielded 8 swimmers at the Middlesex Masters Meet at Barnet Copthall, where we also entered a Men's and a Women's relay team. It's a lot more fun when more members enter, and this competition is open to those without 'Club Compete' membership, so please watch out for the 2024 meet details if you would like to join the fun. In lesser numbers we also attended these competitions: Barnet Copthall Distance Meet, Sprint Meet and 1500m Freestyle Meet Marlins (Isle of Wight), Newmarket, Etwall Eagles, Berks and South Bucks, SE Championships at Crawley |
